The 2026-2027 calendar of grants for French school activities in BC

The right program at the wrong time is the most common reason a school ends up paying for an activity it could have funded. This calendar puts every date and cycle of the 2026-2027 school year in one place, month by month.

The five options at a glance

  • Canadian Parents for French (French Immersion and Core French public schools): up to $1,000 per visit, plus up to $200 for travel. Two visits over two years for Immersion, one for Core French. The school applies.
  • PAC Community Gaming Grants (BC public schools): $20 per student, applications April 1 to June 30, results by September 30. For extracurricular opportunities, such as a show for all students or a club.
  • PassepART (francophone schools): $1,500 per school per year for an activity with a cultural or heritage dimension. Deadline February 12, 2027.
  • Vice-Versa (eligible francophone schools): $1,500 per school per project, with a non-profit partner, for projects held between August 25, 2026 and June 30, 2027.
  • Your APÉ or PAC budget: according to its own rules, at any time of year.

September and October: plan the year

Make the list of classes and programs

Write down which classes want an activity, in which program (francophone, French Immersion or Core French), and when. That single list tells you which funding applies. For CPF, decide whether your school will use its visits this year or next.

Use the PAC’s Gaming Grant

PACs that applied in the spring know their grant by September 30. It is the perfect time to book a Halloween show or a holiday show: the 2026 guidelines name presentations and performances, including science, among the eligible uses.

Start the francophone projects

PassepART activities can take place from September 1, 2026, and Vice-Versa projects from August 25, 2026. If your APÉ or a community partner plans to apply, now is the time to choose the activity and ask us for the quote.

November to February: apply before the deadlines

Winter is when francophone schools should finalize their applications. PassepART accepts applications until February 12, 2027; after that, the year is over for this program. Vice-Versa projects must still take place by June 30, 2027, so a spring project needs to be planned now.

For French Immersion and Core French schools, CPF requests can be made once the activity is planned with Profaqua: we put the school in touch with CPF BC & Yukon, which confirms eligibility and its contribution. Spring dates go quickly, especially during Science Week and our regional tours.

March to June: run the activities and prepare next year

Hold the funded activities

PassepART and Vice-Versa activities must take place by June 30, 2027. Keep the documents each program asks for after the activity.

Apply for next year’s Gaming Grant

From April 1 to June 30, PACs apply for the next school year’s Community Gaming Grant: $20 per student, based on full-time enrolment at the start of the previous school year, with a $2,000 base for schools under 100 students. A PAC that plans a show or an after-school club for the fall should mention it now.

Watch for the next PassepART call

The 2026-2027 call opened on June 15, 2026. Check PassepART’s website for the date of the next one, and prepare your project before the summer.

Who does what

  • The school applies to Canadian Parents for French and confirms PassepART activities with its district’s designated contact.
  • The APÉ or an eligible non-profit submits PassepART and Vice-Versa applications.
  • The PAC applies for its Community Gaming Grant and decides how to use its own budget.
  • Profaqua prepares what describes the activity: the quote with GST and PST, the description of what students do, the dates, and separate invoices when several sources pay.

Profaqua is an incorporated company and cannot apply on your behalf, but no request needs to start from a blank page.

A simple routine that works

  • In September, write every date in the school calendar, with the name of the person in charge of each request.
  • Ask for the quote before applying: programs need the activity, the date and the cost.
  • Keep three columns in your plan: confirmed, requested, to explore. Only confirmed funding lowers what the school pays.
  • Combine sources when the rules allow it: CPF and a PAC contribution, for example, with separate invoices.
  • Check every program’s current rules: amounts and dates can change from one year to the next.
Which deadline matters most this year?

For francophone schools, February 12, 2027, the PassepART deadline. For PACs, June 30, 2027, the end of the Gaming Grant application window for the following school year.

Is there a deadline for CPF funding?

CPF works by cycles rather than one deadline: two visits over two years for French Immersion schools and one visit over two years for Core French schools. Contact us early so the activity and the request are ready together.

Can Profaqua send us reminders?

Subscribe to the Profaqua newsletter: it includes funding program deadlines along with experiments and tour dates.

What if we miss a deadline?

Plan the project for the next cycle and use another source in the meantime: your APÉ or PAC budget, or CPF if your school offers French Immersion or Core French. We can hold a date for later in the year.
