Extra fees, GST and PST

Travel: $0.90 per kilometre, round trip, between our office and your location, with a $25 minimum per trip.
Remote regions: preferential travel rates may apply. Ask us for details.
Perishable supplies: a few workshops carry a supplies fee, stated in the workshop description.
Waiting time: a $60 fee applies when more than 90 minutes separate two workshops.
Taxes: GST and PST are added to the amounts shown.

Two shows for the party

The Great Inventor Elf is a 60-minute interactive show about the great minds whose discoveries changed the way we celebrate Christmas. For each demonstration, our facilitator picks an assistant from the audience: static electricity with a 735 kV Van de Graaff generator, exploding capacitors, balloons popped from 10 metres away by a laser and a fizzing chemical reaction. It suits kindergarten to grade 12.

Magic or Science? challenges children to figure out the science behind the magician’s tricks: objects that multiply or vanish, rings that link together, telepathy. At the end, they learn five tricks to perform at home. The show is for kindergarten to grade 6, with no minimum or maximum number of children.

Can Profaqua host our children’s Christmas party?

Yes. We can present a science show, run workshops before or after the main activity, or act as master of ceremonies: welcome the guests, introduce each part of the event, announce the activities and accompany the gift distribution.

Can you stay for the whole event?

Yes. Whether you want a one-hour show or a presence throughout your event, we build a custom formula with you, so you can enjoy your event while we look after your guests.

Can the show take place outdoors?

Yes. The shows can be held indoors or outdoors, with no minimum or maximum number of children. We need a clear space, 15-amp outlets and, indoors, access to the light switches; the science show also needs a sink nearby.

Which ages are the activities for?

Our workshops and shows are adapted to the children’s age. The magic and science show is for kindergarten to grade 6, and the science shows suit every age, from kindergarten to grade 12.

How much does a holiday activity cost?

From $300 for a 60-minute workshop, $800 for a magic and science show and $1,000 for a science show, with a minimum of one group per day. Travel is billed at $0.90 per kilometre, round trip, between our office and your location, with a $25 minimum. A few workshops carry a perishable supplies fee, stated in their description. GST and PST are added to the amounts.
