Classroom projects
Classroom science projects for BC schools
A workshop is a discovery. A project is an adventure. Over 2 to 4 visits, your students explore a real problem, test their ideas, learn from what fails and build a solution they can be proud of, all in French.

Why a project
More time to think like scientists
In a single workshop, students discover a phenomenon. In a project, they have time to observe, handle materials, ask questions, test their ideas, learn from their mistakes and sharpen their critical thinking.
Profaqua guides teachers and students through every stage. From one visit to the next, students gain autonomy, confidence and curiosity, and discover that science is above all a process of exploring, trying and discovering.
Each project is designed in connection with the BC curriculum and builds skills in science, technology, problem-solving and teamwork.
- A real problem, explored over several visits
- Students design, test and improve a solution
- Profaqua supports teachers at every step

What is the difference between a workshop and a project?
A workshop is a single visit focused on one question. A project spreads over 2 to 4 visits, so students can keep a construction, come back to a result and improve their solution.
Are projects available outside Greater Vancouver?
Multi-visit classroom projects are offered in Greater Vancouver. Schools in other regions can book workshops and shows during our science tours.
Some projects involve live animals. How does that work?
For the ducklings and chicks projects, Profaqua delivers the fertile eggs, incubators and everything needed. Schools that prefer to run the hatching on their own can also rent the equipment only.
