Robotics
Robotics programs for BC schools
Building a robot, then making it move with a program they wrote: few things teach logic, persistence and teamwork so well. Profaqua runs robotics programs in French from kindergarten to grade 12, with the robots and iPads supplied.
A robot for every age
We match the platform to your students, from screen-free floor robots to programmable LEGO® builds.
Kindergarten to grade 2
KUBO® coding with tiles, Bee-Bot®, Blue-Bot® and Botley: first sequences, directions and loops, without needing to read.
Kindergarten to grade 6
LEGO® WeDo 2.0: students build motorized models and program them on iPads to solve simple challenges.
Grades 1 to 12
LEGO® SPIKE™ and MINDSTORMS® EV3: sensors, motors and code for more ambitious missions and competitions.
Two formulas
Our robots, or yours
Full program. Profaqua brings the robots, the iPads, the activity mats and an Apple TV to display on your interactive whiteboard. Your students simply build, code and test.
Facilitation only. Your school already owns robots but you are not yet comfortable leading the activity? We come and run it with your equipment. Robots and tablets must be charged and updated before we arrive.
Want your team to take it over? Our teacher training covers LEGO® WeDo, SPIKE™, EV3, NXT, Bee-Bot®, Blue-Bot®, Botley, KUBO®, Dash & Dot and Turing Tumble®, as well as Scratch, Python and Arduino.

Robotics activities
Where robotics fits in your year
Classroom projects
From 2 workshops of 60 minutes during school hours, with a minimum of two groups. Prices vary by robot and number of visits.
After-school clubs
6 to 12 weeks of robotics in French, groups of 14 to 20 children. From $1,800 for 6 weeks.
Pro-D days
Package D: three hours of robotics to keep a group busy and learning. From $600.
The platforms, one by one
KUBO® is an intuitive robot for the youngest learners’ first steps in coding, combining hands-on and digital play. With LEGO® Education WeDo 2.0, elementary students build with LEGO® bricks, then program their models on a tablet with a Smarthub, a motor and sensors.
LEGO® Education SPIKE™ and MINDSTORMS® EV3 bring Scratch-style programming and challenges such as a sumo battle, fighting wildfires in British Columbia or the White House bunker: in school, from 2 workshops of 60, 75 or 90 minutes; after school, 60-minute workshops over 6, 8 or 10 weeks.
Turing Tumble® shows how a computer makes decisions with no screen and no electricity: students build mechanical circuits powered by marbles and discover algorithms, binary and logic gates through increasingly hard challenges.

You will receive a personalized proposal within 24 to 72 business hours, with no commitment: activity, number of groups, length, travel, GST and PST.
No booking, payment or commitment is required before you approve the proposal.
Do we need our own robots?
No. In the full program, Profaqua supplies the robots, iPads and activity mats. If your school already has robots, we can also run the activity with your equipment.
What do you need in the classroom?
Usually access to electrical outlets, an interactive whiteboard or projector, and a clear space for the end-of-class demonstrations. Teams should be formed before the facilitator arrives. We confirm the exact setup when you book.
Can young children really program a robot?
Yes. Floor robots like Bee-Bot® and KUBO® let kindergarten and primary students build sequences with buttons or tiles, before moving on to screen-based coding.
How much does a robotics program cost?
It depends on the robot, the number of visits and the number of groups. KUBO Coding starts at $262 and the LEGO® robotics projects at $360; we confirm the exact amount in your quote.
Is the activity entirely in French?
Yes. Every Profaqua activity is led in French. For French Immersion and Core French classes, the facilitator adapts the pace and vocabulary and relies on demonstration.
Can robotics be an after-school club?
Yes. Robotics clubs run as 60-minute sessions over 6, 8 or 10 weeks, with groups of 14 to 20 children, and Profaqua supplies the robots, iPads, mats and Apple TV.
Can you lead robotics with the robots our school already owns?
Yes. LEGO® WeDo 2.0, SPIKE™ and MINDSTORMS® EV3 are offered as a full program with our robots or as facilitation only with yours. NXT, Bee-Bot®, Blue-Bot® and Botley are offered as facilitation with your school’s robots.
Which robot suits which grade?
KUBO® Coding from kindergarten to grade 2; Bee-Bot®, Blue-Bot® and Botley in kindergarten; LEGO® WeDo 2.0 from kindergarten to grade 6; LEGO® SPIKE™, MINDSTORMS® EV3 and Turing Tumble® from grade 1 to grade 12. NXT, Bee-Bot®, Blue-Bot® and Botley are offered as facilitation with your school’s robots.
