Hands-on French science programs for BC schools

Kids don’t watch science. They live it.

Since 2000, Profaqua has turned classrooms into labs. Our facilitators bring workshops, multi-visit projects, robotics and science shows, all in French, to Francophone, French Immersion and Core French schools across British Columbia.

The protocol

How a Profaqua visit works

  1. Tell us about your group

Your school, grades, number of classes and preferred dates. A short message is enough.

  2. Get your quote

A personalized proposal within 24 to 72 business hours. No booking, payment or commitment before you approve it.

  3. We bring the lab

Materials, setup and an energetic facilitator. One student becomes the lab-coated science assistant.

  4. Keep the momentum

Teachers receive follow-up activity sheets to consolidate what students discovered.

In the classroom

Every student gets their hands on the science

Before each experiment, students share what they know and make a hypothesis. Then they test it themselves, through team challenges, rotating stations or group work, depending on the topic.

Each workshop can be adapted to what your class has already covered, as a hook to launch a new unit or as a way to dig deeper into a familiar one. When we leave, the classroom is clean and the questions keep coming.

  • Aligned with the BC curriculum
  • Adapted to each grade level
  • Materials and cleanup included

The lab at home

Listen, predict, test

Profaqua hosts science segments on the Allô Maillardville podcast. For each topic, we built an interactive experiment to try while you listen. Try the pH lab:

The red-cabbage pH lab

Red-cabbage juice changes colour with acidity. Pick a liquid, predict whether it is acidic, neutral or basic, then pour!

1 Pick a liquid

2 Predict

The result will appear here.

Explain : red cabbage contains pigments called anthocyanins. They turn red or pink with an acid, purple near neutral, then blue and green with a base. With an adult : boil red-cabbage leaves and keep the juice to test your own liquids.

Snif. Salut à toute l'équipe Profaqua!
